Why Speaking Your Mother Tongue Only is a Dead End?

Another piece of writing  was published from Mr. Köves in October, which deals with the sad fact that Hungarians do not speak foreign languages and teachers are not an exemption. Magyars have to find ways to solve the problem and that is what I tried to do in this article: providing solutions after underlining the drawbacks of not being able to express yourself in other languages apart from your mother tongue. It was published in "Új Katedra" (Hungarian monthly for educators) in December and also a shorter version in “Köznevelés”, the official weekly of the Hungarian Ministry of Education in Hungarian: Köves, Cs. (2010) ‘Egynyelvűségünk zsákutcája’, Köznevelés, 29 October, p 20. Available at http://www.kovescsaba.blogspot.com/ (Accessed: 13 November 2010).
